Being gay in America is not easy. Of course, not being a white heterosexual male is not easy, either. This leads to me coming out to one of my coworkers tonight.
Mike was talking about how he was going to vandalize someone's car because that person called him names in the store all because he could not trade in sealed DVD movies to GameStop. He said he was going to spray "Die faggot, burn in hell" on his car. And I told him that I did not want to hear that because I am gay. So he got a bit embarrassed and recanted his comments.
But anyway, I wonder how the dynamic will change in the store now that everyone will know I belong to a sexual minority by tomorrow. My bosses seemed to interact with me like they thought I was "one of them." I know my assistant manager was talking about going to seminary school after he gets married. I wonder if they will be afraid to come near me. It has happened before.
