I blinked and i'm pretty sure I just missed christmas, ohh well :).
I'm getting really sick of the media actually. Watching the news makes me wonder if people really do buy all this sensationalistic (yes i'm sure it's a word) journalism. It's coming from two fronts now (although one is a lot more depressing), firstly the tsunami which has obviously had such far reaching impacts, but also on the car for which I am just importing: skylines. Interesting pair I would agree but then that's what i'm interested in so deal :P. Firstly I see huge headlines with "12 Australians.. blah blah blah.. death.. blah blah", while various websites are talking about 75,000 casualities (90,000 suspected). Almost exactly the same rational is going on with regards to this years road toll and skylines. I'm sure most of you have seen at least one of the photos of the 4 skylines which were obliterated these last two months, with the blue GTR which was wrapped around the poll last month being probably the most vivid. This has sparked an "outcry" from the public demanding various import cars be restricted and yet 6 people (from memory) have died from this, has anybody looked at the road toll this year? does anybody care how many commodores, falcons, corollas or truck drivers have died? Anyway we had NEIL MITCHELL on talk back showing all the melbournian www.skylinesaustralia.com folk how little he knows about them, and how much he enjoys riding a hot topic to sound contraversial, you winner. I'm sure there are people out there who listened to what he said and actually thought it was sensible. He reminds me of Andrew Bolt :), speaking of which, it wouldn't surprise me if he wrote up something on this "hot topic" soon ;). Funnily enough one of the skyline owners called up and mentioned that it was idiotic driving and not the cars that were to blame (wow amazing, if you go >>> 50 in a 50 zone perhaps it doesn't really matter what car you are in), he got cut off.
I got finally built my active subs powered by a 400 watt car amp and a switch mode powersupply. I'm pretty sure this isn't the cheapest way to do it in hindsight, however it's great fun (and I had the amp and speakers already anyway ;)). I love the feeling of adding something to what you currently have, in this case I get to listen to all those songs and dvds I know so well and hear all the better bits :). "Wow did you hear the bass then!?!?!" ;). The anthem for this christmas had to be Dr Dre, Xzibit and Eminem with "What's the difference", if you don't have Dr Dre's 2001 album you should! I'll add pictures as soon as I can steal the camera.
