Today's Decameron story is by Rebecca Kuang, set in her very, very dark fantasy world using as a substrate some of east Asia's most bloody history of the last century. This is the (quite absorbing) prologue to the third book, coming out in November.

On the brighter end of the spectrum, in case you don't follow
rushthatspeaks, a cat in a box vid that is the creme de la creme of cats in boxes vids.

On the home front, daughter is trying to decide whether to quit the job she worked so hard to get . . . it's not the hundred mile a day commute now, which is not bad at all, but the fact that she has to go in at all: video conferencing is dictated entirely by client choice, and apparently the clients who insist on meatspace sessions are the ones who don't seem to take the current health threats seriously. But she's being ferocious about protection at her end.
