Please move along if you support ICE's current activities, and the White House current incumbents.
I'm irritated with myself, and with my party.
Myself because Thursday afternoon (thinking ahead for today, when I;d planned to drive straight from one affair to Long Beach to attend a rally) my son and I practiced the route at the time I'd be going, so I wouldn't spend fruitless hours circling around to find parking, just to find it was all over. As is my usual ineptness.
Instead, the sun pouring in through the windshield as we inched across town nearly triggered heat stroke: sheets of muck sweat, nausea, shadows at the edges of my vision, gulping for breath. We'd planned to get a meal, then I was going to hit the art store for poster materials. Instead I had to do heat stroke avoidance stuff (food is impossible, cold water and shade vital). I hung out inside here all yesterday, and am back to normal today. I can be out in the sun at other times in the year, but not now when it's at its fiercest. So no, I won't be joining them, I'll be one of those disappointing no shows after rsvping.
Second annoyance, I have been absolutely flooded with hands-out alarm! and begging letters from various groups within the party. I feel like sending them all a boilerplate saying, "No. We gave far too much before the election, and look what we got. I want to see action first." Because it seems to me the most active right now are the volunteers, though it's difficult to say whether any of it will have any effect on the criminals currently stripping the country of its cash while turning us into Germany 1936.
Though I will contribute to specific candidates, all of them women, as it happens.
But I'm not sending that boilerplate because I don't believe anyone would read it.
