What about hand-designed book plates? Your drawings are lovely.

Thanks for the compliment--though I have no idea how I would go about making book plates.

I'm thinking you'd just draw something of bookplate size (say, 3 x 5 inches or so), in black and white, and then print it out.

Don't they have to have sticky stuff on the back?

It's a good idea, though I have doubts about my ability to draw something with a specific function like that. But thanks for the idea! Will certainly mull it.

No more than envelopes need to have stickum on the flaps--we're used to that, but people can use glue to stick them down (in Japan none of the envelopes had stickum).

Not trying to force this idea on you! But just trying to make it live in your mind as a possibility (at least until other ideas come along).

I was thinking of them as being something you could make for people who are Sartorias-deles fans, and who would like a bookplate from the author: they could have coats of arms from the various countries, or, for example images from flags (like Ivandred's banner). But, if you didn't want to do Sartorias-deles-themed images, you could do anything book- or reading-themed.

But again, I'm not trying to force this on you--something you offer should be something you feel comfortable with offering.

I'm going to think about that! Thank you for the suggestion!

You can also make your own stick-um using vinegar and gelatin or vinegar and white glue if you want to. (It dries clear and unsticky, you just get it wet to make it sticky again. Rather like the glue on the backs of stamps.) Just look up homemade stickers online for recipes.
