I loved making it for you and was so glad that I finished it in time for your birthday. To see the pleasure on your face was well worth the time it took. Incidentally, it took 432 hours, not 43! Also, you might say it is 11 x 17.
My frame look so empty without it now. No more will my husband walk by to catch me just staring at it. Next project? A fairy for J.
Anyway, I thought about you every time I sat down to work on it. Now, you'll be forced to think of me every time you see it, too.
Yes, I did make the pattern. I have a computer program specifically for cross-stitching that I can import pictures into and make a pattern. I can specify how big I want it and tweak it to adjust how many colors I want to use or bring out colors in the picture. I wish the picture posted above wasn't quite so dark so you could see more detail.
And I was very surprised to see the book cover come out the with the picture transposed.
Yes, there is. It's difficult to see in the posted picture, but check the close-up of the drakan and you will see the sun shining along the underside of it's horns and the back of it's neck. It also shines on the side of the castle and along Inda's arm and neck. Those were the parts that took the longest as there were only one, two or three stitches of each color there.
Sherwood, can you get M to get a close-up of just Inda?
I'm a fairly serious stitcher myself, and I've kitted up those huge adapted from original art designs several times, only to change my mind about actually stitching them because other people's WIPs just don't have the detail I want.
I love 18ct Aida myself, but the designs I mentioned were designed to be worked on 25ct over one, so what you achieved...You're some kind of genius!
