Greer Gilman's Cloud & Ashes--which I saw an early draft of, and I was just stunned. She writes in cascades of imagery in a prose so . . . so . . . oh, so polysemous and numinous that when I first read "A Crowd of Bone" I could hear Dame Maggie Smith reading it. (Usually I pretty much just see images when I read, though if I know the author's voice, and the style is distinctive, I hear them read it out loud. It's real rare when I get other voices like that.)
