We've been having weekly meetings, mostly about discussion ideas and getting a template for organization. We will kick off midnight Friday 13th March, with a panel run by an Australian Horror group.
I see this experiment as an opportunity for people in different continents to compare ideas, and maybe get into some cultural cross-seeding conversations, with genre literature as a springboard, not a limitation.
Over at the
Flycon Community I posted a couple of possible topics, one
on transformative fiction--what is it, is it really going to change how we perceive fiction, and why is it predominantly female?
Then there's
one on the evolution of the vampire from "terrifying other" to (mostly) tame cute boy suitable for teen reading--what does the change in this trope say about our cultural evolution?
