I've enjoyed OUaT well enough over the first four seasons, but mostly kept on with it because Bunny loves it so much. But I've really loved season 5. I've finally started to appreciate Killian, and Zelina used to set my teeth on edge, but now she's had character development and back story and I am sympathetic. But mostly, I think because of all the Regina/Robin, Emma/Killian and Regina & Emma relationship stuff and I love all those dynamics so much. I adore Regina and Emma and totally ship them but in an AU WAY, as I also love their canon true love pairings.
After a disappointing previous lesbian character plotline (Mulan pining forever) it was BRILLIANT to have the 'woken by True Love' arc be for Ruby and Dorothy (

SO MUCH LOVE FOR REGINA
Much to my surprise I have become extremely invested in Emma and Regina's friendship because I am a sucker for found family.
I love them reluctantly learning to work together!
I love them learing to care about each other despite themselves!
And friends :)
Also, pretty manips
And awesome fanart

And then Zelina's heartbreak on top of that. But characters in dangerous situations die, so I don't actually have an objection to that. And, mentioning for the novelty, oh hey, three male love interests died, instead of the other way around, because even though it's an ensemble cast and the men have their own stories, this is still a female-driven show. Oh, ha, I realise that could just be my mindset, in my head I think of Killian and Robin as supporting characters even though they totally had their own storylines because they are the love interest for the female lead characters. Hummm.
