It seems to be general opinion in fandom that Supernatural is heavily biased towards killing women. I judged, having just watched all six seasons in a frighteningly short space of time, that the ratio was about even. I mentioned to Zebra that if I'm still in love with the show at the end of this semester I'm going to watch all six seasons again and keep a tally. Zebra kindly pointed out that somebody's already done this.

Gender Bias in Supernatural: The Cold Hard Stats This is off the top of my head, reading through the synopses, I've probably missed some awesome ones simply because the plot arc-y ones are pretty much blurred together atm.
2.07 - The Usual Suspects
Sam and Dean investigate the murder of a lawyer and his wife, who claimed to have seen a ghost before they were killed. However, local authorities arrest the Winchesters after looking into their past.
3.11 - Mystery Spot
Dean is killed after looking into a case about the disappearance of a man with Sam. The next morning, Sam is shocked to find Dean alive and is hit with the realization that he is reliving the day before.
3.12 - Jus In Bello
FBI Agent Henricksen finally captures Sam and Dean, but is caught in the middle when a horde of demons descends on the small-town jail to eliminate the brothers.
4.14 - Sex and Violence
A siren casts a spell on men in a small Iowa town, driving them to kill their wives.
4.17 - It's a Terrible Life
Dean and Sam now lead ordinary lives. Dean works in the corporate world at the Sandover Bridge & Iron Company along with Sam who works as a Tech Support. Both have no idea who the other is until their colleagues start killing themselves.
4.20 - The Rapture
Dean has a dream about Castiel asking to meet him in private. Sam and Dean are shocked to discover Castiel's human host, Jimmy, is back in control. Jimmy wants his life back but Sam and Dean believe he is in danger.
5.4 - The End
Dean refuses Sam's efforts to help him battle the Devil, and then wakes up to find himself five years in the future, in a wasteland where Lucifer has begun his endgame by unleashing a virus that transforms humans into zombies.
5.8 - Changing Channels
Dean and Sam find themselves mystically trapped in a series of real-life "TV shows" and there appears to be no escape. They believe their old enemy the Trickster is responsible, but discover someone or something else is involved.
5.11 - Sam, Interrupted
The brothers must go undercover as patients at a mental hospital to get at a monster, but soon discover they have some mental issues of their own to deal with.
5.14 - My Bloody Valentine
The brothers take on Cupid when the people of a small town start killing each other in the name of love. However, they soon discover that a greater power is responsible.
5.21 - Two Minutes to Midnight
Bobby sells his soul to Crowley in return for the location of Death. Meanwhile, Castiel must intervene when Pestilence infects the Winchesters with a deadly disease, and Dean makes a deal with Death.
6.05 - Live Free or Twihard
During a fight with vampires, Dean is bitten and transformed. To obtain a cure, Samuel tells Dean to get the blood of the vampire that bit him. However, the vampire alpha is part of the pack that Dean must infiltrate.
6.09 - Clap Your Hands If You Believe...
While investigating crop circles, Dean is abducted by the creatures responsible, only to discover that they are fairies. They release him, but Dean soon discovers that the fairies, which only he can see, aren't letting go so easily.
6.17 - My Heart Will Go On
The embodiment of Fate appears to eliminate individuals who exist in the present because Balthazar has altered history and stopped the sinking of the Titanic. However, she soon sets her sights on Dean and Sam, who have avoided their fates once too often.
My top 5 of those would be Sex and Violence, Changing Channels, Two Minutes to Midnight, Sam, Interrupted and Mystery Spot. Probably.
