Southland makes me glad I skipped LA on my trip.
This last week I’ve been desperately trying to get my major assignment done before I leave this Saturday for my fortnight’s road trip up north . I have, however managed to fit in 13 episodes of Southland. It is just as well that that’s all the Southland episodes that currently exist otherwise I wouldn’t be getting any sleep at all. Why yes, current obsession, hello.
So a while ago special_trille mentioned this show. The next time I saw her again she mentioned it again. Then she did a pimp post. I began to pay attention, as Trille’s normally approach to pimping something is usually to mention it once or twice and then assume you'll get to it if you want. Last week she brought Southland to the slash gathering and showed us the pilot!!!

So, the 'hook' that got me to watch this gritty, realistic, sometimes depressing show about LA cops was, unsurprisingly, the canonically gay character, but what's kept me watching is the excellent writing, acting and style of the show.
And her. I would watch this show just for Det. Lydia Adams. Because she is AWESOME.
