I found it slower to really engage me than the previous two, but I'm not sure if that was because I'd been conditioned to believe it was going to be bad by someone on my flist ranting about how terrible it was, but by the time it got to the climax I was hooked.

Now, I'm a SUCKER for the big emotional moments, especially when it involves Taking A Stand Against Overwhelming Odds. (I still tear up in Independance Day when Bill Pullman makes that speech that goes 'this day the Fouth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the whole world said in one voice, we will not die out. we will not go quietly into the night..etc )

Someone's going to mock me for the ID4 thing, I know it.

So when the six remaining X-Men make their dramatic entrance, and take their stand, my little heart was filled with joy.

I really liked Kitty, I'm assuming she's only meant to be about 15? She ROCKED.

Also I really liked the metrosexual girl with the shockwave power. Arklight? Arkolight? Did she die? I can't remember. Come to think of it I don't think she had a speaking part, she just strode around looking really hot.

The big scene at the end totally lost me though. Why didn't they just find one goddamn syringe? Why did they need four to take down Magneto? Seems like overkill, and then THEN, Phoenix has this huge dramatic death scene clutched in Wolverine's arms and all I"m thinking is 'bet you wish you'd thought to grab one of those syringes.'

Also, with the dramatic fighting to get to her with the clothes and skin being ripped off? His pants were remarkably intact, I have to say, considering his entire shirt was gone. I was highly amused which I don't think was the effect they were aiming for, somehow.

So glad we stayed for the bit after the credits. *does happy dance*

Oh and the flashback to Magneto and Xavier together when they were young, *does slasher dance of joy*
