In sadness for Robert Jordan's passing I thought I would post a happy memory I had of him.
We were lucky enough to meet RJ in person a few times at book signings over the years. The one I remember the most is freshman year (I think) we decided on the spur of the moment to drive to Half Moon Bay just to see RJ even though we had already gotten the most recent book signed down in SD.
We all ended up buying different hardcover books (think I got book 3 there, mmm love) and let him know that we were from Poway and had sent a representative to get books signed down in SD. Then, he called us his Poway Calvalry and boy were we pleased as punch. Nothing like 4 giggly 19 year olds. We were so happy to have talked with him for even that brief peroid while we all had our books signed, it was so nice that he would go on tours like that.
So, there's a happy memory I have from RJ. I'm deeply saddened that the Dragon is gone and I hope the best for his family.
