God this morning needs to stop failing forever.

Seriously, I woke up at the time I usually leave. Which...wasn't actually totally unexpected, since I'd been ignoring sleep and my body tends to ignore my alarm clock and wake me up naturally around when I need to wake up, except later when I need sleep. But it did make me go sldkfjsldkjf a lot! And I was rushing around so fast I forgot to bring lunch :(

FORTUNATELY while I did have an 8 o'clock meeting, I get into the office at 7 normally so running late was fine. Except for the fact that the alarm was going off and I had to wander around forever to find someone who could tell me how to turn it off since it was so empty, by which time my headache was back full force. (It was fine. Just a malfunction. But augh.)

Then when I was trying to review for the meeting, I found out that our web site. It is still down, actually! If the server upgrade permanently broke our website, I am going to be pissed off. ...Am I overexpecting things when I say that I'd like to be warned for major server upgrades rather than finding out when our site's down? Especially when the status page for the website's servers says that it's up? Especially considering the web site's old enough that compatibility with server upgrades is a real concern? Sigh.

Then I had the meeting which went okay for the most part! Well except for the part where I spent quite literally a minute (I was watching the clock) going "Can I finish, please?" while the other person just kept talking. Dude, I'm listening to you talk while saying that. And if I keep repeating that, it means that I want to finish fucking talking because you're not saying anything I don't already know and it's not even fucking relevant. Jesus, that irritated the fuck out of me, and I didn't even get to bitch him out after the meeting because he ran away.

And the people who I was meeting with had the usual assortment of not listening enough to what I'd said at the last meeting, despite the fact that I'm not going to approve their UI until they fix it the way I tell them to (and this is not feature adding so much as moving buttons to the right screens, so...seriously I don't know why it quite literally took three or four times saying it until they got that no, we don't want those buttons on that screen. And I'm not holding my breath to see whether they fixed that on the next version.) Considering the biggest reason we hired them is because they listened the best I'm just. Really, really, really not impressed.

And...still waiting on the website support. SIGH.

...oh wait they got back to me. And I still want to punch them. Dude, if you're having your customers upload their own php.ini rather than just fixing it with an .htaccess file to fix what your server upgrades broke (which...I don't actually blame them for, considering how old our website is? But dude, they still broke the website without warning), at least have the directions the tech support people links to be right. Rather than telling people to override the settings while they just told me "You cannot use php_flag overrides via .htaccess since you are using php5 as suphp - you have to use a custom php.ini." And...then it doesn't actually tell you where to upload the custom php.ini.

Also, just like, as a general theory, closing my support ticket while my web site's still down bugs the hell out of me. The sad part is that this is also a company that I originally went with because they had good customer support, and that's just gone so downhill in the last year I seriously just checked to see how long ago we'd last renewed, because if it was expiring soon I was so moving. Aaaand it's in October! So unless they give me a very good answer this round, I am so out of there :D
