ROFL! hhahaha, your rambling never fails to amuse and illuminate <3

On point one: You know, even though I am one of the people who sympathizes with Pain, I also agree with you XD I mean... before now he was just another villain with a god complex and now he's... another villain with a god complex stemmed from a horribly traumatic past XD Is it an exhausted cliche? You betcha. But I still respond to it, in spite of that, and I find it monumentally more interesting than a villain who wants to live forever and RULE THE WORLD!!! *insert maniacal laughter* The suddenness with which Kishimoto likes to reveal this kind of information lately (ie: VOMITS BACKSTORY ALL OVER READERS), however, I'm not terribly fond of. But, as you said, considering the target audience the series is for, I'm pretty happy with it :B

I don't, however, think he represents some grand moral dilemma... certainly no more than Itachi or the other would-be villains. He's just yet another character who is following along Kishimoto's well worn parallel tracks of characters guided by an ultimate dream/ambition, however skewed, misguided, wrong, what have you, that dream might be. And god complex aside, Nagato's particular blend of angst/emo pulls at my heart strings... b/c I'm lame like that XD

On point two~ I haven't seen this come up yet LOL so it made me go 'eh?' b/c if there's anyone who listens and empathizes and/or ridicules and then kicks sense into his opponents, it's Naruto. OH NARUTO <3

Just to make it clear, I don't think there's any problem liking him. I can totally understand liking him. His background does make sense, for what it is, and if people go for that, I get it. I mostly find him fun, and that's me. It's just people who act like he's deep and some kind of special flower who kill me.

I just think he's incredibly fun to tease. XD;

As for the second point--I wouldn't have believed it myself, honestly, but there it was. Clearly people haven't been reading the same manga as me.
