My luck with buses has never been all that great.
I decided that I would make a list of all the odd, irritating and downright CRAP things that have happened to me whilst trying to get home by bus;
1. Buses leaving EARLY or simply not turning up. This happens a lot.
2. At the first sign of snow, all buses are canceled. I was once stuck in town with the onset of stomach flu, stood in the snow on a bus stop for 3 hours. I had to walk home. It took a further 2 and a half hours to get halfway home through the snow, throwing up along the way.
3. Bus drivers who dont know where they're supposed to be going. I get on the bus, ask for a single to my road. Bus driver tells me he doesnt go that way. ¬_¬ After a long argument we discover that he was, in fact, going in the opposite direction and had just gone down the wrong road by accident.
4. The 54A is supposed to go right down Charlton Road to my closest bus stop. Quite frequently....it doesnt bother and flies straight past.
5. It's quite late at night. It's dark. My bus skips my road entirely and is about to head off in the opposite direction. I collar him and ask why the hell he skipped my road. Apparantly, he was told on the radio not to go down that road because a group of chavs were throwing bricks at buses. So sending a lone girl down that road by foot is OKAY, then? >_<;;
6. Daffy bus driver goes completely the wrong direction at a roundabout. She realises her mistake and attempts a three point turn. In a double decker bus. In the middle of fuckin' SOUTHMEAD. =__=;;
7. More than once, my bus has sopped at the local chippy, barely a few yards from my bus stop. "Wont be a moment love," they always say, "Just getting my dinner." Engine and all lights are switched off and Im left alone on a dark bus, minutes away from home. =__= *sigh*
8. Bus (which is already REALLY late, well over half an hour) pulls up to the stop and changes driver. I wait patiently till the bus starts back up again....and it pulls away, leaving me behind and bewildered. o____0;;; Am I invisible now?
9. Bus drivers that clearly werent warned about roadworks going on. Along the usual route it's suddenly discovered that a road is closed, so the driver turns around and heads back to the depot without telling anyone what he's doing. Cue the sort of panic only caused when you realise that you've paid for ticket into town, but you're going straight back home. O_O;;
10. Not In Service.
....Fuck off. Seriously. I don't know where Not In Service is but DAMN I wanna live there. Seems like they have such a reliably frequent service! >__<;;;;;
LOL I'm not in a bad mood really, I swear! I just wanted to start this little list to see if I'm the only one to experience all these delightful mishaps. XDD
3 weeks till the end of term, baby! Hell yeah!
