Hornblower community?

You know it just came to me last night as I was going to bed that I haven't seen a Hornblower centered community. Sure, there is writing comms like hh_slash and character centered liked ltbush but nothing that encompasses everything like perfect_duet does for the Aubreyad fandom. Well none that I am aware of, anyway

I'm new around these parts but, I think a generic community would be a great idea. Most of the communities I've come across are somewhat moribund. I've been posting to hh_slash and crumpeteers with little response. Although of course it may be what I'm posting rather than the communities! :} Anything that draws people together sound good to me though.

Can't suggest a name off the top of my head but if anything comes to me I'll let you know

Yeah most of the hornblower communities are quite dead, hence I think it's a good idea for a fresh start.

I've come up with a name which isn't Hornblower related at all but *shrugs* what can you do? Anyway, working on the community layout now. =)

I suppose the obvious names like Hotspur or Indefatigable are taken? Or even someting kitsch like HHlove?

Yeah those names are taken, unfortunately.

HHlove is okay, but for what it's worth I've already set up the community and it's such a pain to change the username now. Just have to work with the one I have and hopefully one will get used to it in time.

I'm apologising for my own non-reading of your fic. Had it recommended to me but haven't had a moment to settle down and look at it - not properly.

HH love is alive and well (just about) but you have to go looking for it. Individuals are posting fic but often not cross posting it and people f-locked a lot of stuff (myself included and I need to unlock it but time's on short commons). There's a bit of a 'history' within this fandom (send me a message direct if you want a potted version).
