There are various definitions of the word 'okay' and Sark is currently feeling absolutely none of them when he finally makes it back to his room. He hasn't checked a mirror yet, but he's fairly certain the bruise is already starting to show. In shallow terms, he's not going to look his absolute prettiest for awhile.
He really doesn't care right now.
There's a long list of things he desperately wants to do and he won't do any of them, because none of them are anything he would actually do. He's too restrained, too repressed, too bad at feeling anything to react the way a normal person would when they've been presented with something emotionally vexing.
In the grand scheme of things, it wasn't that bad. He hurt Sydney more than she hurt him, more than likely, shoving the truth in her face, so being this torn up because of something that was probably an off-hand comment is absolutely ridiculous. He's better than that. He's not broken and therefore he shouldn't act like it.
He makes it inside the door and shuts it before his feet give out and he slides to the floor with his back pressed against the door.
What part is more infuriating, more distressing? The fact that she quite possibly saw the truth or the fact that he's not really the victim here at all?
