Work, work, work...

Lately, that's how life has been feeling.  I went from full-time unemployment to full-time bug testing about 4 weeks ago.  It's odd having more than 1/3rd of my day just going to this.  I am honestly lucky that it's not more than 8-9 hours a day, but after it I'm drained.  I have to hit bed by 11ish normally, and wake up at 6:30.  So my evenings have been my freeist time.  Even then, I've been doing other stuff - Xmas shopping has taken up some recent nights, as has San Andreas, which it seems like I'm close to beating.  Died on the last mission, but haven't had the time to get back into it.

Ian got me a Nintendo DS for Xmas :).  Damn that's freakin sweetness.  And yeah, we've already pictochatted and used it for, heh, adult oriented media.  This makes me want a Toshiba Portege so damn much more.  But it won't be until March when I can even think of getting one.  That month I'll have officially been with the contracting agency for long enough to apply for a 0% interest PC loan for the year.  Would be nice...

So, come March/April it sounds like I may be offerred a fulltime position where I work now.  I'm already hoping for this.  The money now isn't bad, mind you, but I'm having to stretch to cover things.  Our rent went up in November.  A number of things have come down in my head and I believe it's the time to find a nice house and start renting.  Something with 3 bedrooms and a large garage where I could store and use my workout equipment.  It's not just a desire to get in shape, it's a strong need now.  The last couple years of unhealthiness need to seriously change.

About 60% done with XMas shopping with last night's big purchases.  I think all the bigger gifts are done, now its on to the smaller theme items to get for people.  Last year we managed to send a lot of gifts to people online.  This year that won't be the case - being unemployed and not making as much money is leading to a lot more budget analysis.  Cutbacks have been scaled.

Man, this post feels just boring... lotsa rambling about work.  Feh.  Next time, maybe I ramble about something I've not touched in a couple weeks - art.
