Coincidences in writing land.
I'm supposed to be fooling with some CSS for da_think, but, woe, my father is on the Dell, which is what I need/want to be using. The world would be a better place if people stopped using Internet Explorer, I tell you. Of course, hell will freeze over and monkeys will fly before that happens.
Anyway, that M*A*S*H fic thing. There's actually a whole other scene to it, a scene in a diner with a waitress named Evelyn. Ordinarily, I wouldn't mention that, but I wikipedia'd Hawkeye, hoping it would tell me how old he was when his mother died. It didn't, of course, but this is where the Twilight Zone music comes in: it did tell me that book!Hawkeye was married to a woman named Evelyn. I never knew this, but I picked the name Evelyn from this list of 1013 baby names from 1910, and it creeps me out a little. Sure, it's up high on the list, but I'll have you know that I read 700 names before settling on Evelyn. And now I'm kind of ficcing outtakes from my fic, and I think that Evelyn is younger than I originally intended, and that she and Hawkeye eventually fall in love, get married, and that whole shtick.
God help me, but I think I could start writing M*A*S*H again very, very easily. For now, dinner would be good.
