Yeah, that's pretty much the conclusion I expected. Once I got over going "What the hell, Arthur? 0_o" and started thinking about it as a riff on the original.

But...yeah. The moment he blew up the Excalibur the whole plotline got a heavy dose of WTF.

I think Arthur was channeling Kirk* for that one. Though, I felt that the need for it was not nearly as well set up as it was in Star Trek III
This... I got no explanation for.

Maybe the author is trying to set up a precedent of Arthur being capable if being ruthless enough that it seems believable for him to exile Lancelot and Guenevere later in the plot when their affair is brought to public attention and he can no longer just turn a blind eye to it?

I... wonder if he's going to try to kill Guenevere now (Or un-resurrect her, as the case may be)? If kind of seems like if he thinks the process should not exist that that would be the logical thing to do. But I really can't see Arthur doing that. However, all bets are sort of off at this point.
I don't think Lancelot would take kindly to that plan though.
It's one of those plans that can only end with everybody dead and the Dirigible in flames.
