So... Let's go back to Sunday. Best Buy had a special "afterhours" for Reward Zone members shopping event. They had triple reward points. (Normally you earn 1 point per dollar spent) and something like 250 points equals a $10 gift certificate. Awesome right? Well, it's even better when you go and buy a washer, dryer, and then I put Dave's television on my card. Spend about $2100 at Best Buy. But! There is no interest for 2 years and Dave is paying me $100/week until his TV is paid off. About 10 weeks...
But I now own a washer and dryer. I have not used the appliances yet, but they are hooked up in the apartment. I might try them out tomorrow. Just knowing that they are there and that I have purchased them makes me feel more like a "real" adult. The way I will feel when I am actually paying for my car insurance in December... :(
Mack also got a new laptop that I am playing on now. It's an HP, similar to mine, but in some ways superior... But I still like mine.
Then Monday night I had an interview at Linens N Things and was hired. Not sure of my exact first day because the chick that I need to do my paper work with is sick or her kid is sick. I haven't told Gerald yet... but on Saturday he shot himself in the leg accidentally at the store. He went to the hospital and stayed overnight. He's fine. A little embarassed about the whole incident.
Scott, a guy who works at Thrifty had a plaque made that says "I Shot Myself in the Leg Award" for Gerald "Quick Draw" Rollins. It was/is hilarious. Gerald's reaction was great. He's been getting crap about it all day (his first day back was today). One of our sales reps, David told Gerald that he has "Street Cred" now. I could not stop laughing.
I go to LNT Sunday to do something... either an actual first day or video watching/paperwork. I'm not certain, but I'm gonna go ahead and wear khaki pants just in case.
Awesomeness continued!
Last night I went to the James Blunt/Sheryl Crow concert for FREE! I was on the floor and went with Bambi's daughter. The show was excellent. I had goosebumps. James Blunt was very entertaining, not just his singing, but things he said and did between songs. Sheryl Crow rocked!
It seems like there has been lots going on. Mack starts back at Cane's tomorrow night. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with myself. I might head to bed early. Or I might find something else to do.
Today they have been filming "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell" in the apartment next to mine. Like I'm apt Q9 and they are filming in Q10.
I saw Jesse Bradford's directors chair! And of course my camera batteries are dead. And so were the ones I tried to steal from a remote. Maybe it's not meant to be... I totally want a pic of me in the chair... :) Jesse Bradford is the only name I know, but they have film info on IMDB.com! (
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1220628/)
I have been feeling a little funky despite all the crazy excitement or maybe due to it... I'm feeling tired and somewhat headache-y. It might be that time of the month, but my awesome birth control kinda cuts out the actual period itself... so it's hard to say exactly.
Jaws seems to believe that he needs to be involved in the movie action, I think because he hears so much activity outside. He's right by the door. They were/are filming RIGHT outside though.
Well, I'll update some more after my first day at the new job or maybe when I actually tell Gerald... or when school starts, Monday the 25th.
I've decided I want to figure out all the concerts I have seen (where/when/with whom) and try to keep track. I don't have all the stubs. And some of the ones at Tech didn't have stubs anyway... I'll make a list when I figure it out.
Later!
