Fun, fun, fun till...

Hello again! Guess who has 8 straight work days of panel and access to a laptop? THIS GIRL! And THANK GOD for the laptop, because otherwise I would have to jump out the window. My part in these panels is showing work samples, which is fine, but if it is not a topic I am interested in they can be LONNNGGGG DAYS. Heck, even if I am interested, the days can drag. This is not a topic I have any interest in, so I have spent the day catching up on Indiwire.com and looking for apartments.

Guys. Searching for apartments is the WORST, especially if you are going at it by yourself and live on a government salary and have a very limited budget. Plus, I am 31 and so you know, I have THINGS. A big couch and big bed and 3 bookshelves and a kitchen table. I don't mind downsizing some things - it would probably be refreshing. However, I need room for my queen-size bed and my sectional couch. Doesn't seem unreasonable, but guys, price vs. space is INSANE. I have been spoiled by my last 2 places of residence. Now I am in a townhouse and have a whole floor to myself, and my apartment before the townhouse was (in retrospect) very roomy. A solution I guess would be a roommate, but I have had one since 2007 and am ready to move on. My other thought is to get rid of (sigh) cable and just pay for internet. I have Netflix Instant and I guess could get by that and Hulu Plus. I mean, I don't like the idea of doing that, but it wouldn't kill me, you know? Plus there is also downloading. I mean no, I would never do that!

Any suggestions would be more than welcome. Being an adult is HARD!

On a brighter note, my nephew is in town! He is 20 months which is, evidently, a super awesome age. I saw him Friday evening and all day Saturday, but couldn't get out to my parents house yesterday. Too much to do in preparation for the next two weeks. Not gonna lie, it kinda broke my heart. He is such a fun and sweet little guy, I really wish I could take the week (or even a day) off to spend time with him. The good news is he will be here through next Sunday so I can spend some more time with him next weekend. Worst timing ever for a panel, though.

The good news is that I will probably get a full day or even more in credit hours. Score?

Ok, someone has joined me so I should probably sign off. Probably expect more updates in the next two weeks.

work, moving
