Hellooooo, LJ, on this very rainy Thursday in DC. How've you been? I've been here, reading your posts, even though I haven't been updating.
So, things of potential interest:
*We have a raccoon in our backyard! Jeff saw it the other night when he was taking out the trash. This explains why our trash is consistently ripped up. Yuck, yuck yuck! He got a new trashcan yesterday with an attachable lid, so hopefully that solves that. When he told me, he was like, "Just so you know if you go out there to take out the trash," and I was like, "Umm, I will NOT be doing that until it's gone." Not to be a girl about it, but...I'm going to be a bit of a girl about that. Also couldn't help thinking of Lorelai when he told me: "They look like little furry burglars!"
*Just found out today that my work buddy Nicole is leaving us to go take a job in Colorado! What the heck, dude? I'm actually really sad about this - she's become a good buddy and I will miss her. Plus she was supposed to come to my birthday party at the end of the month, but from the email we got, she could be gone by then. And she's out today taking care of her sick daughter, so I can't ask her about it. Super duper bummed, y'all.
*In more exciting news, I get to see my sister and nephew today and tomorrow! They are in town for a long weekend. Unfortunately I will not be able to spend the weekend with them (see below) but am taking tomorrow off to spend the day with them. My little nephew is almost 6 months old and judging from the pictures, getting SO BIG. I liked it when he was 1.5 weeks old and super tiny.
*Won't be able to spend the weekend with them because I am headed to New York on Saturday morning (on a 7:30 bus, ugh) to see How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying starring Mr. Daniel Radcliffe. Didn't realize that it doesn't open until March 27th, so we are seeing a preview performance. Now, believe it or not I really don't care about Daniel Radcliffe. Saw a couple of Harry Potter movies and liked them fine, and then just...didn't see the other ones and stopped reading the books. Not because I disliked them; they just kind of fell off my radar. Anyway, I am totally neutral on the guy, but my friend is a HUGE Harry Potter fan, so she wanted to go, and I am always up for seeing a musical, plus I think this will be a spectacle (not of the Spiderman variety, a GOOD spectacle). And I've been reading some articles about the production, and it looks like it'll be awesome, so I'm looking forward to the weekend.
* Am still rewatching Lois and Clark and loving the heck out of it (you guys they are so pretty). Oddly enough, I am watching backward, started with season 4 and going back from there). Am currently mid-way through season 2. They just went out on their first date. SO ADORABLE. Also, if anyone cares, I wrote a big ole' tribute to the show last week on my
other blog.
*Last weekend, I had a BFF day with, well, my BFF. We went to get massages and then out to dinner. It was awesome - we haven't had BFF time since she had her baby (totally understandable) and as cute as her little girl is, it was really nice to just spend some time with her and catch up.
* My roommate is continuing her Going to Dangerous Places trips, she is leaving for Palestine tomorrow for a week. I don't know, you guys. I really don't know.
*Am making my nephew a lullaby CD, which he can hopefully use. Tracks include "Beautiful Boy", "My Darlin'", "Life is Wonderful", "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" (Glee version) and "Goodnight", among others. It's very chill. Hopefully he will like it. My duties as an aunt, if anything, is to make sure the kid is well versed in music and pop culture.
