So one of the fourth years here didn't get an internship. For those of you who don't know, internship is like residency. . . you can't be fully certified or practice without it. And the thing is, she is really, really smart and qualified. She killed herself doing applications and interviews and stuffs. She applied to 19 sites, interviewed at 10, and didn't match anywhere or get anything in the clearinghouse (positions not filled). That's a really, really depressing thought . NOw she has to stay an extra year then go through the whole process again. I can't imagine doing the grad school process gain let alone that one. This is kinda depressing . . . especially as that could be me in 3 years . .. .
