Jane Moore - The second Wives Club
Finished 10/05/07
Four women are all the second wives to their husbands. Four different circumstances, some more ruthless than others. It was an easy read and the plot continued without dull parts. Ideal book for anyone who is going to be a second wife, who's previous partner has been married and/or has children. This book made me smile and realise about a lot of things that I didn't even consider when I was going though a similar circumstance. Four out of five.
Lynn Messina - Fashionistas
Finished 17/5/07
Vig Morgan works at a magazine, a lame fashion magazine. I have read more than my fair share of chick lit books about fashion magazines, but this one dragged and lacked staying power. In trying to over turn her boss, she makes her boss better than she was. She wasn't vandictive about it nor was she passive. Just plain boring.
One out of five.
Anita Heiss - Not meeting Mr Right
Finished 24/05/07
Alice realises that she is yet again not part of the in crowd at her high school reunion. This time, she has money, a career and 'loves being single', but they all have husbands, children and SUVs. She decides to go and try to have it all. It would have been a great book except the author was Aboriginal and a racist. She got funds from the government to write the book and doesn't seem to be happy with anyones point of view about the heritance of Aboriginals. Other than that, the book was a good read and funny at times.
Three out of five.
Bridie Clark - Because she can
Finished 27/05/07
Devil wears Prada knock off. Except she is getting paid to take the abuse. After seeing the DWP so many times, I felt like they were just trying to better it. A bit boring...
Two and a half out of five.
