A collection of inspiring oddities from my weekend.
1. Waking up Saturday morning to hear the Mario Brothers Acapella Medley being played in the Great Hall.
2. DJing in my footsie skull & crossbones glow-in-the-dark PJs. (Setlists up tomorrow.)
3. Making a new friend by beating on each other with sticks.
4. Limping and making screeching noises the next day as a result of #3.
5. Getting tackled by my

8. A really great peptalk from my mom, that made me cry. Here, have excerpts.
I've not had the most successful professional life. But I think I've done very well in the things that matter -- including having produced the kind of child you have turned out to be.
Anyone can "achieve" when things come easy to them. It's when things are tough and you give it your "all" and you still can't achieve what you want -- how you respond is the measure of that person. Why wouldn't I be proud? You tried and tried -- and did not succeed. Yet you have handled everything well. You didn't give up -- adapted, changed and decided to move on and give your new "choice" the best you can.
PS: NO ONE's life goes according to plan. Some have it easier. But everyone hits adversity. The true measure of a person is what happens when they get knocked down -- again, and again, and again. If they keep getting up and saying "bring it on" or crawl into a hole and say, "I did everything I could and still can't win." You've shown where you are, what you are made of and how you think. How could I not be proud?
9. Singing
