Today has not only been so full of blessings but has just been amazing even if it did start a little chaotic lol. You see my father offered to give me a ride to Center Station where my orientation was to be held since he didn't start his shift till 10, the same time as I was to get started in my whole rig a marole.
But he got a call and had to head in early...like 8. So we were both scrambling at six this morning but we made it out the door on time and with enough time to drop my car off at Gresham City Hall since I would be taking the bus and train back.
So we arrived to the main office and it was neat to go into the building and see not only where he works but meet some of the associates who very well may end up being my bosses. The folks are so friendly there and it made the time pass really quickly before I had to walk down a couple blocks to the training building.
Orientation in itself was actually not bad at all. The covered the company policies, pay rates, benefits (which zomg the benies are freaking amazing!!!) vacation, clothing allowance (which again ZOMG) and such. Then it was time for the tests and I had to chuckle because they use the ol' multi choice fill in the bubble with a number 2 pencil test and it kinda reminded me of high school and gave me a chuckle.
But the tests weren't bad at all. They mostly covered common sense, how you would drive and react under certain driving circumstances and such which for me was a breeze and even entertaining. Some of the answers to the questions were hilarious and had the entire class laughing. Then last was the psychological test...which I zoomed through. I'm talking I finished almost an hour before anyone else LOL.
After it was all said and done they told us that they would be getting in touch with us in one to two weeks to schedule us about an interview or to let us know if we didn't make the cut. And not even three hours after getting home I got a call back! I guess I got a perfect score and my back ground information came back same day (which I guess doesn't happen often)! So guess who has an interview this Thursday in front of the board?!!! ME!!!! *squees*
So after yesterday's craptacular day this day was out 'n' out freaking amazing!!! I feel so very incredibly blessed and I really hope that I wow em in the interview and can show them that I am worth giving me a chance to show I'd be a great asset and then maybe, just maybe if I can pass all the tests and get my CDL and get through the probation period I can finally really move on and start living my life.
I will say this if I do get hired on I know what I'm going to do for myself and it'll sound dumb but I am going to splurge and buy myself a PS3! I had to pawn mine because of Teo and he had always been promising me that he would get me another...yeah we won't go there but that is not only going to be my celebratory gift but my B-day present. After that then I'll be responsible and start stashing money away for moving out...and a bed frame for my twin lol.
Thank you heavenly father for such an amazing day!
