Happy Birthday!
There are some people that you meet in the strangest places, unexpectedly. You start with some sort of common ground - say, a ridiculous British television show. And then you start talking about other things. Work and family and friends, life choices, other ridiculous British (and Japanese and Danish) television shows. And then you realize you’ve talked with this person virtually every day for over a year. Almost two years.
You are 3000 miles away from this person. You live on, literally, opposite ends of a very large country. Somehow, that’s all fine. You’ll start a commune somewhere in the middle of the country, across the many ponds, or run off and join a circus, or just talk about it endlessly when work gets to be too annoying.
(And technology is great. A wondrous thing. Because you can watch the same show and talk about it together at the same time and it’s really like being in the same room, only said person’s cats are not attacking your Torchwood DVDs this time.)
So, in other words, happy birthday to analineblue, who is a wonderful person and has listened to me complain endlessly about fannish things and about life. I could continue to get all sappy and whatnot, but I won’t.
