Spurred on by
ichi_san and her thoughts on my little post 123 fic...I bring my thoughts on who really will bring Kyou the 'truth' about what Kyoko was trying to tell him that final day.
Again...I am someone who loves to dissect this storyline...particularly the entire Kyou/Kyoko connection and see what I can discover before is actually revealed. I posted this in response to someone in the english section of Suba Furuba when they said that maybe Kyoko really did mean to say that she wouldn't forgive him for not saving her.
No, Kyoko's not perfect and she'd be the first one to tell you that. But I think that no matter how much that Kyou wanted to save her, there wasn't a possible way he could have done it. As Yuki said in chapter 123, he's not a superhero. Kyou even said himself that even if he'd been able to grab her, it might just have helped her a little so she didn't get hurt as bad as she did. His shock and reaction time wouldn't have been fast enough...I mean he didn't even call out her name which is what would have been MY first reaction if I saw a car speeding toward someone.
While talking to Kyou, Kyoko mentioned a lot of stuff about getting lost and finding your way in the world. She knew the day she met him that Kyou was a very lost and confused child--very similar to herself. Someone always blaming others for everything in their life that went wrong. If Kyoko was up the wall about anything...it was about getting Kyou to keep the promise he made to her about finding, taking care of and protecting Tohru. She knew Tohru wasn't ready to let her go yet, just as she wasn't ready to let go of Katsuya after he died. Tohru almost lost her mother in that time, Kyoko so badly wanted to be where her husband was. You find your own reason for living, at the time Tohru and her mother needed each other to live...that was the answer Kyoko found.
So...she's been hit by a car and knows she's not going to survive and low and behold there is the kid that made the promise to find, take care of and protect your daughter...the same daughter who will now need her own reason to live and the kid who probably still needs his own reason to survive in a world that had 'rejected' him.
Easy choice for Kyoko to make...it's just too bad the recipient of the message didn't wait around long enough to get it all.
As for Grandpa, I am sure he's got an idea of who Kyou is...I might have written the story but I don't think he's the one who actually reveals what Kyoko said. I can't imagine Takaya wouldn't wrap that up...I know I mentioned something about this to Ichi the other day (didn't I?...I never remember) Most of the time authors don't add characters 'just because'. The person driving that car could have been anyone...but she pulled in a connection to Kareku, Komaki. At the time of Kyoko's death, Tohru was obviously distraught to the point of blocking parts of her memory in her grief...it took her a long time to remember who Kareku was and how she even knew she'd met him before.
There was a large crowd on the corner that day that witnessed Kyoko's and Komaki's father's death, which was one of the reasons that Kyou worried about transforming. How many people do you think actually heard the whole message? Do you think Kyoko would be quiet about getting that message out, even as she was dying? Yuki was FRIGHTENED of Kyoko the day Tohru got lost and never went near her because she was so frantic for people to find her daughter. I don't imagine she didn't use every ounce of her strength to get that message to Kyou. I also don't imagine Tohru heard or remembered any of the 'rumors' surrounding her mother's death. If she tried to give her 'dying wish' to someone...no one could find the kid to give it to since he skipped town thinking he caused her death.
It is shown that Komaki does care about Tohru and how she's doing, which is evidenced by both how Kareku pays attention to Tohru and how Komaki talks about her. Those chapters were included for a reason...it would pointless to build up the relationship between Tohru/Komaki and Kareku if that's all there is to it. Which brings us back to possible rumors surrounding their parents deaths...and the orange haired kid that ran away as Kyoko's trying to tell him something about taking care of her daughter.
Komaki's head was on a little straighter than Tohru's after the accident, and probably remembers some of the circumstances that happened around it. Her curiosity about Tohru's well being would probably lead a little curiosity into whatever happened to the orange haired kid that was supposed to find and take care of Tohru...
Bringing us back to school tomorrow morning...Yuki is going because that is what Tohru would want. Kyou, having probably spent the night locked out of the hospital probably won't leave her side--no matter what (I'd hope not or I will have to pull leeks out again...) Yuki will no doubt make a comment to Kareku about Tohru and what happened to her. Kareku will grab his cell phone and either call or text Komaki knowing she'd want to know right away...which will send Komaki to visit Tohru...and meet Kyou.
Grandpa knows where the orange haired kid has been this entire time--where he was asked to be. It's Komaki who wouldn't know what happened to the kid and would find herself surprised and happy to find him with Tohru...all this time.
Anyone else? Thoughts? Predictions? Think I am insane and spend too much time reading Furuba? XD
