But there is a bit of fatigue that builds in, not for the characters but for the dialogue and for the plot. It would be a nice change of pace to have more Sam/Cas or Bobby/Cas or Sam/Bobby scenes in which Dean is the topic.
Thing is, Dean technically had a plot in Season 3 and 4. Parts of 5, too, before it was red-herringed away. And you did include those Seasons in your stats, didn't you but they still came out zero for Dean? Which means to me the writers simply don't bother. However, just as that has negative connotations for Dean as a character, it also reflects negatively on the other characters. They talk about all and sundry, just not him, not even when he has a plot.
Though to be honest, if he DID have one, I'd be so overjoyed about it, I couldn't give a rats behind if the others, like Sam and Bobby, talked about it. Especially if it was more of the "he is too weak/he can't hack it/he is not deep/intelligent enough/he means well but..." variety. I'm not normally of the "if you don't have something nice to say..." school of thinking but in this case, it fits.
Dean could get kick-ass scenes or the bad guys wanting him (and their flunkies) could discuss it and I'd be golden. :)
Also, I wouldn't agree that to the same degree that Dean has no plot, Sam has no POV. He doesn't have as much as Dean, true, but I think he gets to explain his ideas and thoughts and motives plenty still. I just often don't find these all that sympathetic but they're still there. For me, it's not that the show hasn't build up a personality for him, it's that it is one I don't personally find too appealing.
I do wish Jensen had a plot, because lately it feels like he's just wasting away with having to go through the same emotions over and over again.
Seriously, he should get an award for not fading into wallpaper while getting no storyline whatsoever yet the same repetitive emo - and one that is coded increasingly negatively and a mere set-up for bashing, after all, the show invites the "whiny/boo-hoo" accusation by making that same claim.
I can only imagine what he could do with actual epic, in-your-face, genre storylines, like playing an archangel, getting to be a ghost, being soulless etc. Tbh, these days I often envision him to crossover to Vampire Diaries, the land where about ten character have big storylines simultaneously and plot happens in every ep. *dreams*
