In a hole in the ground lived Erik

After a little more than a year of roaming, I once again live in a basement. I am happy for this return, especially since this is the nicest basement I have ever lived in (Read: will be once it's all set up.) Once again I can stay in bed all afternoon and not be woken by the sun.

Actually this is a pretty sweet deal in a lot of ways. My rent, which is very low, includes not only all my utilities, but also food, which my landlord cooks. Yay! Plus no roommates, which I look forward too, although there is some concern that it will make me very anti-social. We'll see. Biggest downside so far? My cat isn't allowed to live here. She still lives at my old house for now. I go there to feed her and change her litter. This isn't a horrible arrangement since my two best friends in town both live there now, and it gives me a chance to ask "What's going on tonight?"

Edit: There is one definite bad thing about basements, and that's bugs. I don't mind little bugs, but I do mind big ones. Today I saw a wood spider, and a much scarier looking spider of unknown species at the same time. The were both about an inch in diameter, and only a few feet from each other. They have since been dispatched. At least there have been no centipedes.
