Prologue Chapter One
It's been one year since he'd left, but Kame could still sense his presence. Every morning, when he woke up, he felt him right by his side. Each morning, when he was slowly coming to his senses, he always said Good morning, Jin, but then he finally woke up to realize Jin wasn't there.
The day Jin had left, he decided to have no feelings. To not love anymore. His heart ached each time he had the though of him, being with someone else. The only one he could see himself together with was Jin.
Why did you leave?
That was the question that had been left unanswered. He asked himself this every time he thought of him. But there was no answer, just more unanswered questions. Kame had thought that maybe he hadn't appreciated Jin enough, so that was the reason why he'd left, but that couldn't be possible. Kame knew he'd always spent every free second with Jin because he didn't want to let go of him.
So he cried until there were no more tears left. He struggled to find an answer to his question, to find a way to get Jin back, but he got nothing.

Today was the anniversary of the day they met. Kame looked out the window. It was snowing.
Like always, he thought.
He had planned to visit the place where they met, to remember the good times and to finally leave everything behind. He'd finally realized that it wasn't worth it, since Jin had probably forgotten about him and he was never going to be back.
Kame got in the car and headed for the lake where they first met. The streets were full of children playing in the snow. He remembered his childhood, he used to like playing in the snow too. He used to get all happy and giggly when it was snowing, he always told his mom Look, mommy it's sugar falling from the sky, his mother always laughed at him. Also, he had always loved white Christmas. It was so beautiful. He'd always loved staying in front of the window and watch the snow dancing outside, on Christmas day, it seemed like the most beautiful thing ever.
He got out of the car and started walking through the snow. It was cold. Just like that day, he thought. Everything was almost the same, as if that day was repeating again, but he knew he wouldn't meet Jin again. Jin was gone forever.
Kame saw a tall silhouette near the lake. Somehow, it resembled Jin's. It couldn't be, he thought. He started running, the more he got closer, the more the silhouette resembled Jin's.
You can't be here. You were out of my life. Forever.
He stopped. It was all clear now. The brown, shoulder length hair, the tall figure, it all belonged to Jin.
“You...” Kame spoke. His voice sounded far away. It was like he was trapped in some sort of coma.
Jin turned around. He gasped when he saw Kame. He'd never thought he would be here.
“It's been a long time, Kazu.” he smirked, then turned around and kept starring at the frozen lake.
“Why... Why are you here?”
“You might think this is weird but... I'm here to see you.”
This can't be happening again, - Kame thought - Jin, please don't do this to me again.
“How can you do this? How can you come back and pretend like nothing has happened, like you've been on vacation 'till now. And... How can you call me Kazu? Wasn't I just Kazuya to you?”
Jin sighed and turned around.
“Kazu, I'm sorry. I missed you.”
I missed you more. I can't live without you.
“Well... I don't miss you. At all.” Kame said angrily. “My life's better without you, - Lie - and I realised that... that...” he hesitated. He looked away. I could never say this to you in your face, he thought. “ That I never loved you.”
Even Kame could sense the lie in those words, but apparently Jin couldn't. When Kame looked at him, he looked sad, torn into pieces.
Maybe he really was sorry. Maybe he really missed me.
“Maybe... Maybe we could be just friends, like before.” Jin said.
Be friends?
Kame didn't know what to answer. Being friends with Jin meant bringing back all the memories he'd been trying to forget, and he wasn't completely ready for that. But still... He wanted this more than anything in the world. He wanted Jin back, even if it meant to just be friends.
“O-Okay. I guess we could try that.”
A smiled lightened up the older man's face.
“I guess we're friends now.”
Yeah... Friends. What a difficult thing.
