Ladies -

I've been looking forward to this second chapter, and you've continued to draw me in with the brilliant narrative, the dialogue and of course, the criss-cross of time periods. Now we have more questions than answers, and I sure want to know how Jack ended up in Vietnam after coming down off the mountain with Ennis. And how Ennis ended up with Alma. There are clues here and there, and I think your characterizations of Ennis are especially good, especially when he is with Alma.

The confusion and obvious pain that Jack is experiencing is so well done. I am really in awe of how you're painting his experience in Vietnam.
