My New Year's resolution is to give money to a charity that works with homeless people. The charity I'm going to give to is the Dublin Simon Community (www.dubsimon.ie).

On its own, my donation won't make much of a difference. So, I'd like as many people as possible to make a donation each month to a homelessness charity of their choice.

The more of you who decide to donate, the more I'll donate in 2009:

< 5: I'll give €21 per month*
5: I'll give €30 per month
10: I'll give €40 per month
25: ...and also €200 up-front
50: ...and I'll do some fund raising and/or volunteering
100+: Special Mystery Bonus Fun Prize!

If you'd like to help me with this, please:
(1) post this on your blog and say how much you're giving,
(2) reply on my livejournal (sares2000.livejournal.com), and
(3) set up a regular payment to a homelessness charity. Yes, I'm relying on you to be honest.

I know that some of you already give to charity. If you can't afford to give anything, but you think that this is a good cause, please at least pass on this message on your blog.

Thanks,

Dave / Sares2000

*In Ireland, if you give €250 per year or more the State usually tops up your donation to the charity via a tax rebate.
