Stacks and scrapes

Well, my old Subway pal, Jo, asked me to update as I haven't in awhile. So where do I start?....

Well yesterday afternoon, after working 3 long days in a row and starting at the horrible time of 5am on a Sunday, Steve and I went and had a relaxing afternoon meal at the Seagrass fish and chippery in West End. We shared a wonderful seafood platter and watched the cricket for a bit during which the rain started. It died down a little bit was still quite heavy when we decided to leave rather than waiting it out.

We had about a 50m dash to make in the rain to get to the car and as I made my way past the new apartment development on Melbourne St, as I got closer to the car I noticed a large piece of broken perspex lying in the driveway but it was too late to stop and as I made contact with it I inevitably slipped and went arse up. In the rain no less. As Steve caught up with me I realised I had taken a huge chunk of skin off my elbow and sliced open my hand. Fast forward to Steve applying dettol to my wounds and picking out the gravel in my bathroom. Then my flatmate Kieran spraying some spray on bandage stuff onto my wounds that hurt like a mofo. I'm pretty sure the c word was uttered through gritted teeth repeatedly. Did I say it hurt like a mofo?

Anyway, today I am nursing my wounds by watching tv and waiting for the postie to arrive. Our suitability ratings were mailed on Friday and so far my friends Matt and Brett have both gotten theirs. So hopefully mine will come soon and I will know whether I have the rating to be employable as a teacher in this state. Otherwise I will start exploring my other options.

And that is about it for me at the moment. Working, waiting and writhing in pain....
