I appear to have beaten the flu in battle and it has fled like a cowardly dog, leaving only the residue of a sore throat sans phlegm and a sore neck

We took that stupid test too. We have the other half tomorrow. It's the saddest thing ever. I can't believe there are people who fail it. And I really think I did pass the thing in my sleep.
I have trouble believing that people fail that test as well. Less people in our school pass each year. Last year, something like 49% of our juniors passed. The year before that was like 52%. This year, they're trying to get it up to a 75% pass rate, but I have a feeling it's not going to happen. The kid sitting to my left during the testing was able to complete every section in 10 minutes or less and I never once saw him write anything. And he's a smart football player. What's that say for all the other ones?
Did you happen to notice on the reading example in the part about how to get better retention and comprehension from reading that there was a question "Why or why not" without a question mark or any other punctuation? Just "why or why not"
Well, there are such things as typos. Still, you would think they would proofread everything enough so that wouldn't happen.
There was a Chinese guy in my class...poor thing, I don't think he got a chance to finish a single section.
I think Marion does pretty well on the exam. With all the remediation that's required now if you don't get proficient, hopefully it'll cause alot more to do well.
Our school has done so poorly over the past few years that they actually gave a pretest a few months ago and scored it--- anyone below a 3 got remediation before the actual test. If they still fail, they get remediated again. What's sad is that we have a lot of our Honors English students failing this exam each year.
How'd you like the letter to the Senator prompt? I started to write something along the lines of "Do the community a service and retire," but erased that. =P Ended up writing something fairly decent that was two pages long and didn't have enough room to sign it, so I had to do the signature in the corner of the last line.

And these are the people who test OUR literacy.
