...was not the greatest night I've ever had.
I'd been suffering from some indigestion since supper, and around 11:45 it erupted into a full-blown vomiting session. It was so forceful and copious that the staff called EMTs. That my blood pressure dropped 40 points at the same time did not help matters, either. I continued vomiting for about 45 minutes, messing the ambulance, the street outside the shelter, and some of me.
I stayed at the hospital for 12 hours while all sorts of tests were run, blood and urine samples taken, and heart monitors beeped.
They found nothing, and eventually I was released just after noon on Friday. About all I can possibly pin the cause on was some possibly bad potato salad I had earlier at supper time. Later, I found out that several people staying in the dorm area also felt queasy, but I guess I was the only one to full-on expel my guts with alacrity.
At least I ultimately did better than the 19-year-old girl they brought in about 3 hours after I arrived. She came in with a cardiac arrest and was placed in the room next to me. They worked on her for about 90 minutes, but she didn't make it.
In other news, I should really be moved into the new apartment by the end of the month. I found out that it's a bachelor suite, about twice the size of the room I have now (the room I have now is 8' by 10') it *does* have a full stove, so I can use the oven. Even so small, it's still better than where I am now. The Salvation Army has an 'Emergency Kit' that I can take advantage of, that will supply me with some things I'll need, but most everything else I'll have to get on my own. This means I must apply for another advance, and then spend another 6 months paying it off. It will also delay my plans for a computer purchase, but this new apartment is still such a positive, that I think I can live with that delay.
Anything else happens, I'll let you know.
