This day has been pretty good. I'm really tired, but really what's new with that?
I have a new strategy, which involves binding my ankles together with an ace bandage and they stay. It's actually quite confy and I must not look too weird because no one seems to stare at me more than usual. I think. I am so oblivious sometimes!
But it's working!
Maybe OHSU isn't as useless as I thought.
I go back on the 22nd to get fitted for ankle braces. Braces=pain. I am not excited.
I went to job club today. It was just me and B. We were talking about education and he asked me how I managed to go to grad school with a wheelchair. I told him that sometimes it wasn't easy,but I made the teacher's accommodate me, like if I had to give a presentation in a room with stairs , I'd either present from the back or have someone carry me to the front. Helen heard that. Busted. She knows how capable I am. She said she had a plan. And part of the plan was to get me back to being like that. Doing anything to get things accomplished. She said her plan ends with a job for me. I told her I'd do it.
The ride home was good.It was clear, and I kept catching glimpses of Mt. St. Helens. It's just a stub of a volcano, but it looks so ominous, like it'll blow at any second. Kinda cool and scary at the same time.
But not too scary.
My ipod was playing Flood from They Might Be Giants. It made me happy. It reminded me of high school and going all around Vancouver with Emily (my friend from 3rd or 4th grade on, who introduced me to They.)
I am really enjoying A new earth and the Oprah class. I'm still a skeptic...but a lot of the ideas in it make sense. I like the idea of breathing and meditation. And Oprah's New Earth theme song always makes me tear up. It is beautiful. I want to be powerful enough to commission my own theme songs. How cool would that be?
Speaking of Oprah, the prego transman was on. All I have to say is poor bun in the oven. How confused is that poor kid going to be?
Oh, and New Kids On The Block is going to have a reunion. Hello childhood and crushes on Joey McIntyre!
