Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to the half-dozen or so of you who are actively paying attention here currently.

Me, I got off work two hours ago, and have to be back there in nine more. And I'm supposed to manage to drag my arse out of bed at 3:30, so I can go to dinner at Mikey's sister's house around 4. I want the food, but I don't want to leave there and go to fucking Walmart.

Let's see who gets smart with me tonight, and let's see who wishes they didn't. Let's see what kind of crap food they serve us at work this year, although at least it isn't the same crap it's been the last two years. Let's see if I don't say something if the offering is bullshit.
(Possibly also, let's see if I still have a job by 6am.)

Some people have said that I should be thankful that I have a job (for a company which has no respect for my holiday and my family time, etc) and that I should be thankful that they're feeding us at all (given the former, I'm more surprised than anything) and usually those people are the ones who really aren't half as inconvenienced by the scheduling as I am, and therefore should be thankful that I didn't punch them in the face.

However, there is still time. The holiday season is just beginning. People's Christmas spirit (which smells a lot like a sphincter) hasn't totally ripened yet.

holidays, work, thanksgiving
