Sittin' on the dock of the bay...

Actually, sittin' on the front porch swing is more like it. Just me and the dog.

For now, anyway.

I should have some company coming shortly. I'm not, however, certain how many of them are actually going to come. The two usuals, Kara and Mike (yet another) are coming, with a little bit of alcoholic refreshment. Two from work, Kevin and Brittani, may be coming... though I'm not sure if they actually are. Kara and Mike were waiting for Mike to get off work. Kevin and Brittani were somewhere else a couple hours ago, and I thought they would be coming, but there was no commitment as to when, so I've no clue.

So in the meantime, it's the porch swing, LiveJournal, me and the dog. There's not a whole hell of a lot else to do in this town.

The boyfriend is working tonight and tomorrow night, when I'm off... which is nice, it means I get some space. This, I think, is our one main issue that we kinda have. I need an adequate amount of "me" time. He, on the other hand, can seem to do entirely without. My ex was similar, although he was more independent, and would wind up doing things on his own when I would opt out. (This became something of an issue, apparently, on his end, for reasons I've probably gone into in the past, and won't right now, because nobody needs a novel right now.)

In any event, tonight will probably be nothing too terribly exciting, really. We'll just sit here, have a drink or two and probably play Rock Band 3, and possibly, though the later it gets, less likely, go for a skinny dip in the pool. I'm not sure how into the pool idea I am right now anyhow, as it's mildly muggy, yes, but the ambient air temperature is relatively cool. As in less than 70ºF. I'd be of an entirely different mindset, were the pool heated. But alas, no, it's not, and pool heaters -- that would do the sort of heating I'd prefer -- are insanely expensive. I'm pretty sure I could re-do the bathroom (save for replacing the floor) for less.

So, more likely Rock Band. Though, nobody but the BF can play the drums. I typically do guitars. Or sometimes, when I play by myself, I play the vocals. I'm self-conscious. Which is kinda funny, since when I do play vocals, the majority of my scores (with pitch correction off and no-fail mode off at "expert" level) are 99-100%. You'd think I'd be a total karaoke queen or something, but I can never get up there and do it.

Not really much else to report... well, I suppose we'll be getting a new car sometime this week. This is mostly on my BF, since he's the one financing the loan for it. We've been using his since mine suffered from an unaffordable breakdown last year, and I let it go. His is a 97 Dodge Stratus that his parents bought new, and he inherited when his mother got a new one nearly a decade ago. We rented a car to take us to Michigan in April/May, and we ended up with a 2011 Chevy Cruze, which we both liked a lot, and I think that's what he wants to go with, because it was pretty fuel efficient, and since we did both like it a lot. Personally, I figure the only reason I should have to complain about a car he would get would be if I didn't fit into it. This is particularly relevant because whenever we go anywhere together, he makes me drive.

He also figures if he's going to go for a Cruze, he doesn't have to wake me up Wednesday in the middle of the day to go car shopping, when I have to work Wednesday night. I can deal with that. I don't really care too much otherwise. We've peeked at the car dealer's website to see what they have, and they've got several. We both agreed that we're not big on white, but beyond that, I'd be alright if he picked a silver one, a black one or a red one. (I might be inclined to prefer a black or red one over a silver one, but again, his loan, his car, his choice. lol)

Okay, still just me and the dog, but I'm done with writing this entry. And I think the dog's ready to go in, since she's "knocking" on the front door. So I guess it'll be just me. :) Good thing I'm okay with that.
