I'm starting to think it's just easier to do a few of these every few days. =P
13. What's your favorite culture to write, fictional or not?
I hope I'm answering this question right. Anyway, it's kind of fun to write the fictional culture of Kansas City; because so much has changed, the usual cultural dynamics have kind of been turned on their heads. I also like writing the Corlionis and how they interact--their family is kind of a culture all on their own, so to speak.
14. How do you map out locations, if needed? Do you have any to show us?
Since I write about real places, Google Maps is my friend. I double and triple check to make sure what I'm about to write is possible IRL, and though I may stretch the bounds of plausibility, I try not to outright break them.
I do have a map for Kansas City which is a color-coded guide to which states have been bought or are under control of which side. That's
here.
Mmm, pizza.
