Meetings and Parents

May 26, 2006 22:23

After a meeting with a production company (I've had maybe 40 of these over the past few months...it's just to discuss new projects I'm working on and see if they have anything they think would fit with my writing style), I called my father.

My dad: How was your meeting?
Me: It went well. She was really nice, and we had a good discussion.
My dad: So you think something will come of it?
Me: Well, she said she was a big fan of my writing and really liked my script, and she wants to find something to work on together. (long pause) I mean, these meetings...they're mostly meet and greets, just to see what I'm working on next and get a feel for my personality. No one's going to hand me a sack of money or anything.
My dad: Have you tried holding out your hands?
