As usual, I'm having outfit dilemmas. My high school friend Katie's wedding is coming up (which also serves as a high school reunion of sorts for me and my HS friends, who are spread around the country and who are completely amazing), and I'd love your opinion on which of the two options I should wear!! I just received the floral dress today - I took a chance and ordered it without ever actually seeing it or trying it on, having fallen in love with the pattern. I had to buy one size larger than I usually wear, because that was all that was left in stock - and even so, it was the last one! It fits pretty well, though, aside from the straps, but that can be easily remedied because they are ties - I'll just tie them tighter!
Okay, so here we go:
A few things to note:
-I'd prefer to wear the new floral dress, because I just got it, I love it, and I'm not sure if I'll have another chance to wear it for a while. It's silk. Would it be totally out of place at an October wedding in Boston? The wedding is indoors - ceremony at a church, reception at a hotel ballroom.
-Is it weird to wear tights with a silk dress? I thought maybe it'd autumn-ize the look a little. Also, the floral dress is a little on the short side, though not ridiculously so.
-The dress has sort of a pinkish-ivory background. Is that a wedding faux-pas?
-The black halter has a brightly colored pattern - it pops more in person than in the photo.
-The black halter is a matte material - probably a cotton blend. The fabric is not as dressy. I probably wouldn't wear a belt, since I don't have one that would work quite right.
-I don't have that gorgeous black clutch... mine is more patent-leather-esque. I may have to borrow one from Jasmin.
