You can hear haste in Libier's voice as she starts reciting different spells and lore, trying to find the right magic to get us into the lair without being seen, and without being pummeled the second our existance is made known.
I take out my zippo lighter and spark a Marlboro light. I miss my smoking my buddy, but I'll see her in hell soon enough. I always sorta figured that the next time I'd see hell would be because it was my judgement day... turns out it's the opposite.
I start getting chills the second we get within range... I hadn't been to an active HellMouth... a full blown fire and brimstone HellMouth in forever. I feel a darkness in my stomach that I remember from long ago... total past life. I hear Libier's chanting quiet and all together stop. I look at her... her eyes look vacant and terrified.
"i hear all these voices... i hear them screaming.. i hear them but they're saying nothing... they're saying nothing. please God make me a stone..."
I put 2 and 2 together and that pretty much equals where we're at. Getting close... the voices are coming back. The millions of voices that plagued her as an adolescent are slowly growing and making her numb and afraid.
I hold her hand and force her to make eye contact. She grips firm... and after a few seconds she begins to blink again, and come back to me. That was close. She dives back into her spell books and little color coded flashcards trying to think. The silence here on out is deafening.
We get to the stopping point. I let them out. They know where to meet me, and I know how to get in. I drive our means of transportation at a blinding speed, i hear the gears change higher and higher... then I crash it through the gates of the Synagogue loud enough to make my presence known. Just then I make a b-line to get more followers and maybe get a crowd going. My presense is not only known but it's worse than the Who at Cincinatti... the opening of the HellMouth becomes flooded with Demons and Changelings alike... chasing after me. I slide open the sunroof, put the engine on cruise, grab my Armani Leather Jacket and wait for my moment... then I jump. Libier's been waiting to complete her part of the plan, and as quick as a hiccup the SUV explodes in a blaze of glory. Her arrow always hits it's mark with a deadly accuracy.
By now I've made my way back to our meet up place and we walk in like the most popular girls at your highschool. Confident, beautiful, and ruthless. The resistence we meet is slim-to-none, most of the Changelinges and worker demons chased the SUV and are inspecting the crash site for evidence of my death. I expect mostly vamps at the entrance and in the pit... and i'm right. They catch a glimpse of us and quickly begin to charge... Libier grabs a small clear flask from the pocket of her perfect pair of black pants she'd purchased just 5 days before at Neiman Marcus. She dips the tip of an arrow in the shimery gold liquid and loads it into her bow. Her eyes become a blinding white and she chants, "like piercing the sun, grant me sight beyond sight, in this orb made of light". I lower my new Prada sunglasses and grin... she fires the arrow to the center of the pitt. When it reaches it's target all that's left is a shining ball brighter than any tanning bed I'd ever been in. The ball generates a sun-like light that's sure to kill any vamp, provide light, and maybe help me touch up on any places my mystic missed.
A plume of dust rises from the ground... there goes about 50-60 undeads that I wont have to deal with in the fight to reach Brittni.
"let's get a move on..." Jake mutters, it's the first time he's really spoken since we got back in the car.
We move to the center of the pit and look for passages, trap doors, anything. I hear a screetching above us and duck just in time to dodge a Gargoyle going after my head. Libier aims and he's down in a matter of seconds. The ball of light above us is starting to fade and we need to move soon. I hear a faint scream and we all turn our heads in the same direction, we start to run.
A changeling rushes out of the direction we're charging and I plant a bullet right between his eyes before he even knows I'm there.
Now a second runs out, then a third... I'm so tired of dealing with middle men. The first is armed with an axe, which he throws directly at my forhead. He probably didn't plan on me grabbing the handle just as I swerve out of it's path. Well, I did. I weild it at his chest and leave with nothing but a stain of demon blood all over those new Lucky Jeans I mentioned earlier. Now I'm really pissed.
The third went a different direction and was thwarted when Blake sliced through him like a hot knife through I Can't Believe It's Not Butter.
We hear Brittni scream again and I kick down the door between us and my mentor. Our ball of light dims from the sky and the only thing that can be seen in the darkness is Brittni lighting up. "Which is it today, sex or slaying?" I ask as I smirk... without missing a beat she smiles, "well so far just the slaying..." she winks at Jake and continues, "but the day is young, right Murph?".
"OH DANG OH DANG!" ... Libier and her priceless one liners.
