Just Chillin' (Literally)

Dec 03, 2007 08:14

Here at work, freezing my ass off. My desk is surrounded by nothing but freaking windows and, while all the natural light I'm getting is a good thing, the drafts coming through that and the front door is killing me. I'm wearing a turtleneck, a sweater, and a cardigan and I'm COLD. I'm seriously knitting myself some fingerless gloves because my hands are chunks of ice.

Okay, enough with the complaining...

I finished NaNoWriMo with a word count of 68,433 but I'm not going to do any revisions until January. If I leave it alone for a full month, then I'll be able to really see the glaring mistakes I made in the storyline. I think next year I might set myself a goal of 100,000 words in a month, but it all depends on the type of job (or what other fic-centric obligations) I might have by next year.

As for writing, I'm taking a break this week and then I'll be posting the next chapter of A Beautiful Mistake by Mon. or Tues. I've written a little of it because I didn't want to break the flow that I had going with it. I've made the mistake of stopping a story cold turkey and found it hard to pick up from where I left off. I've noticed that I write "rhythmically" (for lack of a better word) and it's impossible for me to pick up that pace of writing in a story if I've not worked on the story continuously.

So, I hope my lack of not updating A Beautiful Mistake regularly hasn't proven detrimental, and that you all are still interested in seeing where it goes from here.

Drop me a line and let me know.

Thanks!!!
