This weekend was great.

Saturday has the first football game of the season/home opener/family day. Now that all the students are "settled" they have family weekend so the parents can come and visit the kids and see how they're doing. My parents could't believe that my room was actually clean. By their standards, too. I only had to pick up my disk and put away some shoes before they got here though. So we went to lunch (it seemed busy, I'm so glad I wasn't working). Then it was time for the game. It was great. Watching a football game with 64,400 of your closest friends (well not really, but that's beside the point). Brendon left at half time to meet up with Lyndz, but I stayed for most of the rest of the game (I probably looked like a loser cause it was just me, but I got to see my game, so I don't really care.) I left 2 min early to beat the crowd getting out. Then my parents an I walked around campus (my feet hurt) had dinner (finally sat down) and then they left. Then I spent a little time in the dorm (sitting) and then walked over to Jackie and Kathryn's dorm (feet still hurt). It was fun over there, the air conditioning was nice, but I felt like I was intruding a little bit. Though that seems to happen a lot when I'm hanging out with both Jackie and Greg. Not too much I can do about that though.

So at dinner on Sat. my parents told me that they found a buyer for the house (which is YAY! though I am going to miss not being able to go back there.) And that they were going back on Sunday so dad could mow the lawn and they could get the last of the little stuff from the house. So seeing as I didn't have classes, and didn't have to work, I considered if for all of 2 minutes, and asked if I could come with. So I went back home for a day! I still think of it as home. Probably will until either Thanksgiving of Christmas when I stay at the new house for more than one night. It was fun being back. I needed it. See the neighborhood, the old house (though it look weird, an much smaller without all the furniture), went to Target and found some jeans that actually fit! (It only took 4 months of looking. I hate jeans shopping.) Then went to Martin's. Said hi to a few people up front. Talked to RJ and convinced (well asked) him to call Chris up front.
Now when you're in the back (even when you work up front to begin with), being called up front is never a fun thing, so you always dread it. So the look on his face when he saw me standing up there next to RJ was priceless. So he took a lunch and we went over to Burger King. I almost went deaf at one point (seriously Chris, it wasn't that bad), we talked for a bit. Then we went back and I went back to the (old) house.

One thing that I had to do before we left, was get the height chart from the house. Now seeing as this was on the frame for the pantry door we couldn't really take it with us, so I had the idea to get some painters tape and mark off the heights onto the tape, then transfer that to the new house. I know it's dorky, but it may help the new house feel more like home later cause now it has some of that history to it.
So very good weekend. Helped make up for Friday (which really wasn't so bad. Just got to me. Whatever.) And now I'm feeling a lot better here, too. That helped get rid of the homesickness, I've been meeting more people on my floor (I already found a Alias fanatic like me, and Erin (my roommate) is a fan, and I found a group to watch Lost with. Yay!), and I'm just starting to get used to the rhythm here.

*ps. Joy- Where are you? You'd better get back here soon. I miss our girl talks with my big sis. :P Don't make me come find you.
