Goti job landup does

Sourav is Goti. The etymological origins (of Goti)

are both so strangely innovative and embarrassing that I shall not dwell on that here. Sudarshana, him and I drove over to Devon and had some great Biriyani, Gosht Nihari, Kadai Chicken and Fish. Yummm. Sabri Nihari has changed places, it got burnt down. And then back to our usual haunt Cafe Express, discussing everything from fathers-in-law to Camus.

The best news is that Goti got a teaching job at University of Pittsburgh. Goti is sad he had to turn down Istanbul, but it was very nice to see Sudarshana relieved and smiling.

Goti is one of the most fascinating individuals I have been priviledged to meet. I still remember the day with intrigue and smile circa 1995/6 when he came over and asked "How does one prepare for CAT ?". And as if it is yet another chore to be engaged in and accomplished, he got through an admission to the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, with consummate ease. If you met him, you would know, he is the last guy to be in "management". Worked for three years, built a house for his parents and then got a PhD admission into Kellogg's / Northwestern. Works on mathematical modelling of democratic processes (elections).

Everytime I come here, I go over and pay him a visit. I do not know when I will see him next.
