Tech Week is over. The Dance Concert is over. I won't see any of my upper level friends for a while. I miss them already. So here's a brief summary of my experience at my first Tech Week.

Monday. First day. Sara Kuhn, Erika, and I all stayed together. We talked a little bit to the upper levels, but mainly amongst ourselves. Soup for dinner. They had cream of broccoli; I was the happiest girl alive. We ran through the whole show. Everyone said our salsa looked the most prepared.

Tuesday. Sara Kuhn, Erika, and I talked to the upper levels more, and we practiced countless of times. Erika and I turned her solo into a duet, because she felt bad the I was just sitting there watching her. We mainly just practiced, did homework, and talked to the upper levels for the whole six hours. Tried the chicken salad sandwhich for dinner. It was pretty good.

Wednesday. Middle of the week. I had never been so tired before in my life. We ran through our dance once or twice. Not too hard though. We practiced in the  PAC lobby, and we went into those bathrooms [I was too lazy to walk to the other ones], and Sara says to Erika, "Look at these bags!!" "We could go to Zimbabwae with those!" Soup again for dinner. I had the baked potatoe soup. Yumm. More talking and practicing after dinner. [Boring day.]

Thursday. Dress rehersal. We practiced in our costumes. Stained Glass Masquerade with Erika went well. Salsa went amazing! Talking with the upper levels was amazing as always. Dinner was Chinese. We met Shelby. She's Chris' cousin, and they are both amazing Irish dancers. They did their Irish dance for the actual performance. They're so good. I had some name changes from the [unexplainably] hot Grant. First I was Patty, then Sally, then Sheryl, then Suzy, then Sha-nay-nay, then Bebe, then Beyonce. Interesting, huh?

Friday. Student matinee. I was terrified. Erika and I were number two. I was shaking so much, and Erika and I did the hokie-pokie to calm my nerves. Melissa joined in too. Then Grant came over [he saw me shaking], and gave me a hug to wish me luck. I was so scared. We went out, and, well, like dance recitals, I forgot everyone was out there, and danced for one person. I imagined Kevin Sanger out there. I danced for him. Salsa was amazing. Everyone started cheering as soon as the music started, and they started to clap the beat a bit too. And when we were done, they all started screaming. It was amazing. Afterwards, we ate and did whatever. Then a bunch of the upper levels got me onstage and all the lights were off. I was talking to myself to hide my fear. Then they started moving stuff to freak me out, and the spotlight blinded me. I was scared, but then I realized what was going on...and I laughed. Then I was supposed to get someone who scared easily. Nicole got Melissa. She almost cried. Lots of fun.

Friday Night. The actual performance was an hour away. My nerves were going crazy, and I was horrifed. Sara and I talked and got our make-up on when Erika and Shelby came in. The performance time came around, and int he wings, Erika, Melissa, and I did the hokie-pokie. I wound up doing it three times. I was so scared. I got onstage, and right in the first row was Ellisha, Brianne, and Jesica. I was thinking, CRAP! WHY'D YOU SIT IN THE FIRST ROW?! But I danced well. Salsa came around. Music started, and screams came. Then the beat being clapped. We danced our hearts out, and my fish looked the best it ever has. Afterwards, I walked out, and no one clapped. I was upset, because when Jared and Katy and them came out, everyone clapped. I went back to say bye to Grant.  My name was then changed to Jennifer. I walked back out and there was Mark Fritts clapping for me. I felt so special.

So that was my tech week. I was terrified about performing, but I'm fine now. I can finally say I've had my first WCSPA performance. It was amazing. Now I'm just scared about auditions on Wednesday and Thursday for Pocketful of Rhymes. Horray for the Level One musical. It's for little kids so yeah. Ok, I'm out.

Love Always.
Sarah Rae.
