It's time I'll take before I begin - three sheets to the wind, three sheets to the wind.
I've decided. Come September, I am moving to New York City. There's going to be an empty room in Jon Good and Jesse Sternberg's apartment in Brooklyn, and I am going to fill that space.
I've got a month before I get there to send out job applications. I've got enough money to take care of initial rent and such, but that money will run out fast, so I'm going to have to get my ass in gear if I want to eat. I need to learn to take care of myself for real, and I think New York will force me to do that. At the same time, I'll be in a place with a lot of friends to help steer me in the right direction until I get my bearings.
Maybe this is a bad idea - small town queer girl with no money moves to New York. But I'll make it work. It's something I've wanted to do for a while. And at least now I've got a temporary destination. And, may I stress: living with Jon and Jesse in Brooklyn.
